April through September, I suggest fishing Lake Sharpe, Fort Pierre area. Some of my favorite spots are from the bridges down to the bluffs, Farm Island, Stony Point, from Stony Point down to Fort George, from Fort George down to the lower Brule area. With lodging and meals in Pierre/Ft. Pierre, Lake Sharpe is an experience to be had - Monster smallmouth bass in the mix with spawning walleye.
Lake Sharpe starts in Pierre at the Oahe Dam and it's actually a river that separates Fort Pierre and Pierre. Lake Sharpe goes all the way down to (Chamberlain or Big Bend dam).
Spawning typically takes place in April and/or May on Sharpe. The Fort Pierre bridge, bluffs, Farm Island, Antelope Creek, Fort George are great places to concentrate, presenting with plain hooks, jigs, spinners, crank baits - fishing the Missouri River for walleye is always a blast during these two months.
