I have been fishing Lakes Oahe and Sharpe since 1994, to include a few years of guiding with my dad, prior to taking over the business as a South Dakota walleye fishing guide. I love it! I love meeting new people. I enjoy the camaraderie that develops throughout the day and I enjoy sharing ideas and knowledge concerning the great sport of fishing. I've also been fishing glacier lakes: Thompson, Poinsett, and Sinai since the early '90s.
I believe Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe are the Capitol of walleye fishing in central South Dakota. The great thing about fishing for these walleye is that you run into other species such as trophy small-mouth bass, pike, perch, white bass, channel and blue cats, and the list goes on with occasional trout and salmon.
I've been fishing South Dakota eastern glacier lakes since the mid-90s, and in 2007, I expanded my guiding services to those lakes. This includes Lake Thompson among several other lakes stretching from Madison SD south as far as Vermillion and Yankton. These lakes provide opportunities in angling for multiple freshwater species.
I also guide for perch and bluegill north of Watertown, SD. These glacial and prairie lakes offer a variety of species: walleye, pike, perch, crappie, sm bass, and white bass.
