Finessing Fall Crappie - Sept 8, 2017
I've been having back issues, so I've been staying close, fishing a local Lake in Sioux Falls. With cooler nights, the water temp has dropped 7 degrees within the last 2 weeks. Crappie are still feeding hard, but we had to change our tactics. They no longer wanted our presentation we have been offering. Keeping it simple, we offered live bait in some hairy structure. Presenting on a drop off from a ledge. 12ft that dropped into 15ft.
The Fall crappie bite is going great on Lakes Sharpe,Thompson, Poinsett, Sinai, and there's plenty of Perch to be had on Lake Whitewood. Points, sand bars, areas where main channels split, stock dams, humps, and tree brushes are great places to locate fish.
Northview Bait of Sioux Falls is my one stop for fishing local Lakes surrounding the Sioux Falls area. Matt is a great guy and will help you out.
